Leggett to Testify at Senate Budget & Tax Committee
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will join Prince George’s County Executive Rushern Baker and Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz on March 12 in urging the Maryland Senate to pass SB 927, the Supplemental Public School Construction Matching Fund Program. This bill could provide critically needed additional funding for school construction to meet the County’s unprecedented increase in enrollment, which is the highest in the State.
Last week, all three county executives testified before the House Appropriations Committee in support of their version of the school construction bill. Leggett also joined hundreds of parents, teachers, and elected and school officials at a school construction rally sponsored by the Montgomery County Council of PTAs.
Leggett’s testimony is available on the County’s website here.
