Gaithersburg City Hall

Gaithersburg Budget Public Forum

How clean are your streets? Are they well lit? Is there enough green space? Are public playgrounds well-maintained? Does your recycling get picked up? Do you feel well protected? Can you find recreational activities that you enjoy? Who’s taking care of the homeless?

The Mayor and City Council will host the annual Gaithersburg Budget Public Forum on Feb. 10 in the City Hall Council Chambers starting at 7:30 p.m. In an informal, town hall setting, staff will present the financial state of the city, then elected officials will entertain input from the community on funding priorities for the coming fiscal year, which begins on July 1.

The staff presentation will include a state of the city’s finances, including how the city ended the previous fiscal year and projections for FY15. Results of the 2013 biennial Citizen Survey will also be presented during the Forum.

Advance registration is not needed to speak. Anyone wishing to comment need simply wait their turn for a 3-minute opportunity to express their thoughts. Comment can also be provided via e-mail to cityhall@gaithersburgmd.gov.
