Fleet Feet Sports Award

Fleet Feet Sports, Gaithersburg was recognized by Competitor Running magazine for the Mid-Atlantic region. Every year Competitor Running magazine survey their online and social media followers from around the country to nominate their favorites in numerous categories, including races and coaches to products, stores and more. Votes are then broken down into eight different regions.

Fleet Feet Sports, Gaithersburg is proud to announce that in the Mid-Atlantic region they have won the award for Best Running Store Group Run! In addition, one of the races Fleet Feet Sports sponsors, The Kentlands/Lakelands 5K also received a ‘Best of’ award for Best 5K/10K in the Mid-Atlantic region. Carrie Dietz, Race Director, has done a great job building the race into a cornerstone event that the entire community can not only be a contributing part of, but
proud of!

Fleet Feet Sports is excited to have won in this category and thanks all of their amazing, local runners and walkers who help make their group fun runs and walks so incredible. Recently Fleet Feet Sports hosted two of its largest fun runs/walks in store history – the Halloween Zombie Fun Run with over 200 runners in attendance and the Holiday Christmas Carol Fun Run, with just under 100 runners in attendance, during which they spread holiday cheer throughout the Kentlands.

As Fleet Feet Sports continues to grow as a store, it hopes that it can continue to have a meaningful impact on the surrounding community. “We love being a place people can come to after work and hang out and enjoy time with fellow runners. Over time our fun runners have become more than just acquaintances, but lasting friendships have developed. It’s truly awesome to see and be a part of,” commented Chris Gault, co-owner of Fleet Feet Sports, Gaithersburg.

Fleet Feet Sports welcomes runners and walkers of all paces and abilities to their weekly Fun Runs/Walks held on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. Each week 40-70 runners attend, running and walking from 3-5 miles together. At least once per month the Fun Run/Walk is sponsored by one of Fleet Feet Sports’ vendor partners, with tasty treats and refreshments provided in a fun party-like atmosphere following the run.
