Council President Rice Endorses Brown-Ulman Team
Dec. 4, two rising leaders from Montgomery County and Prince George’s County threw their support behind the Brown-Ulman team. With the endorsement of new Montgomery Council President Craig Rice and new Prince George’s County Council Chair Mel Franklin, Democratic support in the capital region continues to grow for Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman.
“I enthusiastically endorse Prince George’s County’s own Lieutenant Governor Anthony Brown as our next Governor.” Council Chair Mel Franklin, who represents a large portion of Southern Prince George’s County, went on to say, “I believe the Lieutenant Governor shares Prince George’s County’s priorities of achieving universal pre-kindergarten for our youth, raising the minimum wage, building our 21st century economy, solving our long-term transportation challenges, and achieving universal healthcare for all Marylanders. Anthony Brown believes in doing big things, on purpose, and so do I.”
“Craig Rice and Mel Franklin are dynamic leaders who represent the next generation of Maryland leaders and I congratulate them for being elected as County Council Chairs and thank them for their support,” said Lt. Governor Anthony Brown. “When Ken Ulman and I joined forces to build a better Maryland, we committed ourselves to building the strongest, most diverse grassroots coalition that our State has ever seen. Together, we’ll win this election and get started on the hard work of strengthening our schools, growing our economy and delivering on the promise of a better tomorrow.”
