Preliminary election results were released and Bruce Williams has been reelected Mayor. Seth Grimes (Ward 1), Tim Male (Ward 2), Kay Daniels-Cohen (Ward 3), Terry Seamens (Ward 4), Jarrett Smith (Ward 5) and Fred Schultz (Ward 6) were all reelected to the City Council.

The results are expected to be certified on Nov. 6 and presented to the City Council at a special meeting at 7:30 p.m. The officials will be sworn in at a special meeting and reception Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. The elected leaders will each serve a two-year term.

Voter turnout for the uncontested Takoma Park election was 11%.

The 2013 elections included five days of early voting. Of the total ballots cast, 226 voters participated in the early voting sessions. As of Nov. 4, 43 voters cast absentee ballots.

Mayoral candidate Bruce Williams received 989 votes (89%), Seth Grimes received 229 votes (90%), Tim Male received 242 votes (91%), Kay Daniels-Cohen received 189 votes (89%), Terry Seamens received 218 votes (95%), Jarrett Smith received 72 votes (91%) and Fred Schultz received 125 votes (98%).
