The World of Montgomery (Photo)

A festival that celebrated the diverse cultural heritages that play an active role in the lives of area residents drew a large crowd to downtown Wheaton on Oct. 20 for the World of Montgomery Festival. The festival showcased this rich diversity through food, music, dance, traditional arts and hands-on projects for children and families. Exhibits included culturally authentic arts demonstrations and activities aimed at promoting international and multi-cultural awareness. Among those addressing the crowd during the event were, left to right: County Councilmembers Marc Elrich, Nancy Floreen and Craig Rice (speaking); County Executive Isiah Leggett; and Councilmember George Leventhal.
