2013 MONTGOMERY COUNTY THANKSGIVING PARADE

POOL OPERATORS NEEDED

What is required to become a Swimming Pool Operator?

Be at least 17 years of age (proof of age required)

Successfully complete a Swimming Pool Operators course approved by Montgomery County.

Have one season’s previous experience as a public Swimming Pool Lifeguard or Swimming Pool

Operator. (One season is the equivalent of 520 hours.)

Pass an examination administered by the Department of Health and Human Services

(Note: Re-examination is required every three years. Applicant may choose to take a challenge exam administered by the Office of Licensure and Regulatory Services to take an approved refresher course.) For more information about what is required to take the Pool Operator’s exam, call Health and Human Services at (240) 777-3986.

 

ADULT SWIM

Ages 18 and Up with disabilities: Adapted aquatics and swim instruction in a group setting. Participants should be able to indicate basic wants and needs and have minimal self-help skills. One staff to seven participants. No personal care assistance provided.

TR SWIMMING WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

This is a swimming and aquatic exercise class for people with MS and other disabilities who want work on their fitness and flexibility in an aquatic environment. One staff for every six participants. No personal care provided. 8 Sessions $48

Ages 13 and Up with disabilities: Every class is a party! Participants should be able to follow one- and two-step instructions. One staff to ten participants. Dress in comfortable clothing and shoes for active movement.

Y.E.S. Youth Empowerment Program starts September 30 for 7-12 grades.
