Voter Registration Drive Set for Sept. 7 & Sept. 18 in Rockville
The city of Rockville’s Human Rights Commission will host a one-day voter registration marathon throughout Rockville on Saturday, Sept. 7.
The marathon is intended to encourage residents to get involved in their community and increase voter turnout at this November’s city election.
A decorated City van will travel to six locations to provide residents an opportunity to register to vote.
Stops will include:
-Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Dr., from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
-Intersection of College Parkway and Rutgers Street behind College Gardens Shopping Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
-Great Wall Supermarket, 700 Hungerford Dr., from 1:30 to 3 p.m.
-Twinbrook Shopping Center, 2210 Viers Mill Rd., from 3:30 to 5 p.m. (near CVS)
-East Montgomery Avenue, 100 block, (sidewalk close to the Regal Theater) from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Another voter registration stop is planned for Sept. 18 at Montgomery College Rockville Campus, 51 Mannakee St., from noon to 2 p.m.
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, and polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
