Rockville Hires New HR Director

Rockville announced today that Karen Marshall has been named Director of Human Resources. Marshall will begin her duties on October 7, filling the position that was vacated in April, 2012. In the interim, Colette Anthony has been the Acting Human Resources Director.

I am pleased to make this announcement. Karen is an excellent fit for the City of Rockville and its human resources needs. Her extensive, broad based and high level human resources management experience and strong customer service orientation will serve the organization well, both immediately and into the future,” said Barb Matthews, Rockville’s city manager.

Karen Marshall has a master’s degree in social services administration from the University of Washington, Seattle and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She has worked in human resources for local governments for more than 23 years. Currently, Marshall is the Director of Human Resources in Fort Worth, Texas; a position she has held for the past nine years.

Marshal looks forward to her new role with the city of Rockville.
