Civil rights leaders, celebrities and marchers from across the country have been commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington in the nation’s capital.
The initial events started on August 24 with organizations to include the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Action Network, and National Association of Colored Women Clubs.

The four-day commemoration will culminate with President Barack Obama on August 28.
He will stand on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, the same steps Martin Luther King Jr. gave his infamous ” I Have a Dream Speech” in 1963, to address marchers.
