The rain date for the event is Sunday, Aug. 25. For inclement weather information on Aug. 24, call 240.314.5022 or check Rockville website online.

New to this year’s festival is Mission South, an up-and-coming DC-based band that combines blues/rock grit to pop/folk. Be sure to catch the band on the plaza stage from 2:30 to 4 p.m. You can also enjoy the indie-rock sounds of The Hill and Wood, also new to this year’s lineup, who will take the plaza stage from noon to 2 p.m.

Performing for this year’s festival also marks a first for The Hill and Wood: “We play DC a lot, but this will be our first time in Maryland,” Sam Wood of the band says. “Expect a lot of vocal harmonies, tasteful guitar solos and some good folk rock songwriting. There’s plenty to listen to and plenty to dance to.”

Chef Jeff Eng of Tower Oaks Lodge in Rockville will give a cooking demonstration from 1 to 2 p.m. that he hopes will showcase not only the food from Tower Oaks Lodge but also the ingredients obtained right from Rockville’s Farmers Market. “Giving back to the community that has given me so much is very important to me,” he says. For his demo, attendees can expect to “pick up a few cooking tips and learn about the seasonal cooking philosophy at Tower Oaks Lodge and the importance of the Rockville Farmers Market to that philosophy.”

Chef Patrice Olivon from L’Academie de Cuisine will also give a cooking demonstration from 3 to 4 p.m. as part of the event.

Wine tasting sales booths open at noon on Gibbs Street behind the stage and on Maryland Avenue. Tasting sales booths accept cash only. Must be 21 and older to participate in wine tasting.

Paid parking is available in any of the Rockville Town Square parking garages or free parking is available at Rockville City Hall, County Government garages and the parking lot north of Beall Ave. The Rockville Town Square is a short walk from the Rockville Metro Station on the Red Line.
