82-Year-Old Pedestrian Involved in December Collision Dies

Detectives from Montgomery County’s Collision Reconstruction Unit have completed their investigation of a, now fatal, collision that happened on December 18, 2015 on E. Randolph Road in Silver Spring.

According to police, Patrick Yip Yang, age 82 of Silver Spring, succumbed to his injuries from the collision on Feb. 21.

Police say that on Dec. 18, 2015, officers and Fire and Rescue personnel responded to a report of a pedestrian struck on E. Randolph Road at Serpentine Way. The preliminary investigation showed that Yip Yang was crossing E. Randolph Road when he was struck by a 2006 Volkswagon Jetta. Yip Yang was then transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Volkswagon Jetta was not injured during collision.
