5 Things to Know Today, Feb. 5, in Montgomery County

Today is Friday, Feb. 5, and here are five things to know in Montgomery County:

1. Food Resources: There are two food distribution events happening today in Montgomery County. Additional resources may are found on the county website food resources page.

2. CM Katz Business Briefing: Councilmember Sidney Katz will be joined by Marla Bilonick, executive director of the Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC), and Ermias Stefanos, owner of Metro Coffee and Convenience in Rockville for a virtual briefing on business and economic development. The briefing takes place at 12:30 p.m.  Email Councilmember.Katz@MontgomeryCountyMD.Gov if you wish to participate.

3. COVID-19 Testing: Free COVID-19 testing is available throughout the county at eight testing sites today.

4. CE Elrich Economic Recovery Town Hall:  The next town hall in a series to keep businesses informed during the health crisis is scheduled for Friday at 3 p.m. This town hall will give businesses suggestions for how to prepare for the spring and summer months.  Join the town hall on Teams or watch the broadcast on County Cable Montgomery, or view live on the County’s Facebook.

5. COVID-19 Vaccine Development Explained: VOX explains a new method for vaccine development in this video:
