$5 a Day
I am on day four of five of the SNAP Challenge, eating with only $5.
For breakfast, I had boiled eggs, toast and water.
For lunch, I had tuna, carrots and water.
For dinner, I will be having baked potatoes, carrots, and a can of chicken noodle soup. I really understand how difficult it is for low income families to survive on $5 a day.
It is so important for the leaders in the community to make sure that our children in the community are provided with a healthy breakfast and lunch while they are in school. Also important is they are given food in their backpacks on Fridays to take home for the weekend. This is the reason that I support programs such as Women Who Care Ministries, KIND and Interfaith Works because they provide food on the weekend for these children.
